It was a great pleasure to welcome back former student John Allen on Friday evening, 14th June.
John was accompanied by his lovely wife Emily and their 3 delightful children, Will, Jack and Madison. (… with a combined age of 25)
At Oxford University, John won 2 RUGBY BLUES, (2002 and in 2003 as captain) AND a CRICKET BLUE in 2003.
John now teaches at Trinity Grammar School at Sydney. See more …
The University team that faced the ‘other place’ in 2003 under John’s captaincy was Ryan O’Mahoney, John Bradshaw, Adam Magro, Adam Slade, Jon Fennell, James Gaunt, Tom Hayman, Richie Woods, Peter Raftery, Anton van Zyl, David Lubans, Henry Newume, Dai Griffiths, Kevin Tkachuk.

The following morning, 15th June, at the University Iffley Road Rugby Ground, OURFC staged the Ian Williams Foundation memorial match.
John, with Emily and his children, joined many former rugby blues and greyhound players , [with all their children ], to lend to a spirit of rememberance the vision of the foundation, set up in Ian’s name, to move beyond the sadness and create an impactful vehicle for change. See more …

A splendid 24 hours.

Our thanks to Tim Stevens (OURFC General Manager – [email protected] ) for the accuracy of this post.
